Recently, President Obama made an unscripted statement that revealed his socialistic mindset:

“There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.  There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own.  Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

“The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.” (Video of the Presidents statement:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6orhOOBNVG8)

Belittling individual achievement is a purely Marxist principle and it’s just plain wrong.  If government is responsible, then why doesn’t everyone succeed?

Our founders knew that man could succeed if given the opportunity and freedom from oppressive government.  We’ve had over two hundred years of men and women breaking new ground without the government as the foundation of their success.

President Obama recently used the Golden Gate Bridge as an example of federal prowess. The problem is, it was neither built by nor funded by, the federal government and, I’d argue, would not be today.  In fact, the federal government attempted to quash it.  When the bond sale to finance the Golden Gate Bridge failed, Amadeo Giannini purchased all of the bonds on behalf of the his company, the Bank of America.

We’ve seen countless amazing accomplishments by entrepreneurs.  Microsoft and Apple, as corporations, markedly improved the condition of man and created more wealth for more people than any government could imagine.

Of course, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates did not do perform every function in the company, that’s true.  They had a vision of what they could achieve given the correct mix of funding, the market, and the available talent.     These are the true leaders of society.  They are wealth creators who became rich by producing things people want and need.  In the process, they improve our standard of living.  The government in no way built these companies.  Rather, they harassed Microsoft with a nonsensical antitrust lawsuit when they bundled their internet browser with their operating system.  Similar harassment is now going on against Apple.

Small business and large business owners have something in common.  They create jobs that raise the standard of living, but also the wealth that allows the funding of government. The president would like to claim their success on behalf of people that did not invest their time and money. Excessive taxation and regulation strangle small businesses and reduce the supply of goods, services and jobs.  Entrepreneurs are less likely to risk their own time and capital in creating a new business if their profits are to be seized.  This is why socialist economies struggle and fail.

Mitt Romney contributed to the economy by founding Bain Capital.  This company put private money at risk to rescue troubled companies and finance startups such as Staples, Brookstone, and Domino Pizza.    Bain Capital is responsible for the creation of more than one hundred thousand jobs.  This was not blind luck, nor did the government create this business.  The government “invests” taxpayer money on green boondoggles such as Solyndra, leaving us holding the bag when they go belly up!

When Mr. Romney took leadership of the troubled Utah Olympic Games, he turned it from a disaster with over $400 million in the red and ended $100 million in the black.

Jobs created by entrepreneurs such as Mitt Romney have been key to helping people lift themselves from poverty, improve their standard of living, and to have hope for a brighter future.    Isn’t job creation the hope and change that Americans really want?  Mitt Romney is the right man at the right time with the right experience to turn America around.

Elect Mitt Romney and vote out all big government, business killing Senators and Congressmen!
